The 73th Advanced Study Forum ‘The Cause of Atmospheric Aerosol and Its Mitigation’ was held in Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Branch in 8th and 9th June 2015. Shanghai Institute of Advanced Study, CAS, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Key Lab of Aerosol Chemistry and Physics were the co-hosts for this forum.
Given the increasingly aggravating haze pollution in Shanghai, the 73th forum focuses on the mitigation of haze pollution and PM2.5 control technology. Over 30 experts attended this forum, covering Environmental Engineering, Environment Monitoring, Chemistry, Materials science and Biology. Excellent speeches have been given by 17 eminent scientists, including Dr.David Pui from University of Minnesota, Dr. Shuncheng Lee from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong He from Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Xin Yang from Fudan University. Reports involve a wide spectrum of environmental topics including causes for haze, source apportionment, formation mechanism and mitigation techniques.
